Serving on Boards and Commissions
The San Marcos City Council
appoints citizens to serve on advisory boards and commissions.
Their recommendations to the City Council contribute to many
of the decisions and policies of the City of San Marcos. The Boards
and Commissions Information Pamphlet provides basic information
about volunteer service.

Volunteers
serve without pay on City boards and commissions. Members
must take an oath of office and serve in the interest of public
service to the San Marcos community. As City officials,
board and commission members are subject to the standards
of ethical conduct contained in the San Marcos Code of Ethics.
In most cases, board members may serve no more than two consecutive
terms on a board and may serve on only one City Board at a
time.
